Celebrating its 125th anniversary in 2013, the Ontario Historical Society (OHS) was founded in 1888 as a not-for-profit educational corporation and NGO. It brings together those interested in preserving some aspect of Ontario’s history and is perhaps best known for the publication of its 100-year old journal Ontario History.
The OHS has a membership of over 700 historical organizations and heritage institutions and is dedicated to identifying, preserving, protecting and promoting Ontario’s built and natural heritage and sacred landscapes for the benefit of present and future generations.
