As any of you who also read the Facebook page know, the Trivia Night last Saturday was a resounding success. Netted proceeds for the Beaverdams Church restoration tipped the $3000 mark! This came from ticket sales, a 50-50 draw, donations and the silent auction.
Thank you to everyone who helped with the time or provided prizes. In particular, thanks must go to the organizers (Melanie Battell and Donna Cowan) as well as to the other members of the organizing committee (Denise Bradden, Dave Cowan, Susan and Garrett France, Margie, Brian, Farley and Lynn Hadley, Caroline and Jamie Head, Joe, Cathy Ker, Sarah King Head, Julian Gingras, James Symons, Lillian Sypes, Gloria Terryberry, Teresa Tepylo and Bill Vander Klippe), who contributed so much of their time to making the event such a success. Thanks also to Councillor Becky Lott who helped direct people to their tables.
The stakes were high with twenty tables participating in the competition.
Margie read the questions, while Bill emceed and Sarah managed the powerpoint presentation.
Generously provided prizes – including a signed Ice Dogs hockey stick – made the silent auction prizes a hit!
