A Foundation Piece

The Friends of Beaverdams Church are excited to announce that restoration work on the church is anticipated to begin in a few short months, in Spring 2014.

The first step will be to stabilize the 12 supporting posts along the perimeter of the building. At a cost of just over $8,000, this work will involve the installation of helical screws at the base of each post and attaching them to the ground. In so doing, the exterior walls will be stabilized so that work can begin on restoring the foundation.

Heritage engineer Mark Shoalts CAHP describes the work as being an essential first step, but he is confident that once it is completed the rest will fall into place easily!

Please consider donating to help finance this and all further work – or perhaps join us in our fundraising activities.
